Breeding plans

Use this page to see all breeding plans for the mares in your stable. Select the years you want to work with and then filter, search or export the list.

What's on this page

• Year buttons: show each available year; click to select a single year, or hold Shift and click to add or remove years. The current year is selected by default.
• Add breeding plan button: opens a form to create a new plan; only visible when you may manage horses.
• Export button: downloads the visible rows as an Excel file, keeping the current filters and sort order.
• Filter button: opens a list where you can filter by Usage type, Agent / Insemination‑station, Status, Domestic / Abroad, and Semen type.
• Search box: type a plan number, customer, horse or agent to quickly locate a plan.
• Breeding plans table: columns Mare (Biological), Carrier mare, Number, Usage type, Stallion, Last insemination date, Status. Click a row (or the right‑arrow icon on mobile) to open its details.

Common tasks

Add a new breeding plan

1. Click Add breeding plan.
2. Fill in the required fields (mare, year, usage type, stallion, etc.).
3. Press Save – the new plan appears in the list.

Find a specific plan

1. Enter the plan number, mare name, stallion or agent in the Search box or set filters.
2. Adjust the Year buttons if needed.
3. Click the matching row to open its details.

Export the current list

1. Apply any filters you need.
2. Click Export in the filter bar.
3. An Excel file is saved with the shown rows.

Good to know

• The year selection is stored in the URL, so your chosen years stay selected when you return.
• The Domestic / Abroad filter treats a plan as domestic when all owners are in the same country as your organisation; owners without a country are considered domestic.
• The Add breeding plan button only appears if you have permission to manage horses.
• When no plans match the filters you see the message “No breeding plans found for the selected years”.

Add breeding plan

Use this form to add a new breeding plan or edit an existing one for a mare.

Mare

• Select the mare (only if not pre-selected). The plan will be linked to this mare.

Usage type

• Choose AI, ET or ICSI. This determines which additional mare role fields appear.

Role of mare

• For ET/ICSI, set whether the mare is the egg donor (Biological) or the surrogate (Carrying).

Carrying mare

• If the role is Biological, select the surrogate mare.

Biological mare

• If the role is Carrying, select the egg donor mare.

Stallion

• Pick the stallion whose semen is used (optional).

Agent / Insemination-station

• Select the contact providing the semen or performing insemination (optional).

Semen type

• Choose Fresh, Frozen, Undiluted or Deep Horn semen (required).

Studbook

• Enter the studbook the mare belongs to, if any.

Status

• Set the mare's pregnancy status (Pregnant, Barren or Unknown).

After saving

• The plan appears in the mare's breeding plan list and automatically enables breeding usage if it wasn't already active.
