Feeding: how it works
Feeding helps stable owners and their staff plan exactly what each horse receives at every feeding. After you define the feed types and the daily feeding times in Settings, you assign feeds per horse in the Feeding schedule. The same information can also be viewed on an individual horse’s page.
What a feed schema is
A feed schema is the complete plan that tells which Feed type and how much Quantity each horse gets at each Feeding, starting on a chosen Start date and optionally ending on an End date. It is built from the feed types and feeding times you set up in Settings.
How it works together
- Settings: In the Settings page you create the Feed types (hay, concentrate, …) and the daily Feeding times (e.g., 07:00). These definitions belong to the selected stable and are used for every horse in that stable.
- Feeding schedule: Open the Feeding schedule page. Here you see a table with all horses. To give a horse a feed, tap an empty cell, choose a Feed type, specify the Quantity, set a Start (and optionally an End) and confirm with Save. Existing feeds can be edited or removed from the same cell.
- Horse page: When you open a horse’s page, the feed schema for that horse is shown, so you can quickly review its plan without scrolling through the whole list.
Good to know
- Only horses with an assigned stable are shown by default; filters or search also show horses without a stable.
- Feed types and feeding times can only be changed in Settings; they cannot be edited from the Feeding schedule.
- Cells that start changing today or tomorrow are highlighted in amber and display the Changes today or Changes tomorrow label, helping you spot upcoming adjustments.
- You need the manage feed permission to see the plus icon and to add, edit or remove feeds.
